Georgia District Civitan Foundation, Inc.

The Georgia District Civitan Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit Georgia corporation founded in 1965.  A part of the mission is to assist Civitan Clubs in meeting local community needs by offering matching grants for club service projects.

Civitans sponsor many local community service projects and other programs to assist the mentally challenged. GDCG holds many fund raisers which benefit various projects such as Camp Big Heart and scholarships for high school seniors in the Gerogia District. See Foundation Policies.

Civitan Scholarships

2011-2012 Alice Dodd Scholarship for Outstanding Community Service
2011-2012 Bobby Dodd Scholarship for Outstanding Community Service (Awarded to a physically challenged student.)


Bobby Dodd Scholarship for Outstanding Community ServiceThe first place recipient for each scholarship receives a $1,200 award.  In addition, a second place award of $800 will be presented for each scholarship. Although academics and financial need are important and will be reviewed, the overriding criteria will be the applicant’s community service involvement. Junior Civitan Club members are encouraged to make application.

Please feel free to make as many copies of the applications as needed. Remember, all applications must be postmarked by January 31, 2012.

Robert Wyand Junior Civitan Scholarship and the Georgia District Junior Civitan Scholarships - The recipient of the 2012 Robert Wyand Junior Civitan Scholarship will receive a $1000 award and two recipients of the 2012 Georgia District Junior Civitan Scholarships will receive $1000 awards each.
